LEGO® Serious Play® Workshops

Below is an overview of the types of workshops I offer. All these workshops will be tailored to your need, based on at least one scoping conversation for simpler workshops, and at least two for the more complicated ones.

The cost of the workshop depends on several factors, including how complex the goal is and the number of participants.

I can either come with my LEGO®, or I can advise on which LEGO® you need to source.

All workshops are suitable for participants who have never done LEGO® Serious play® before and for all skill levels when it comes to LEGO® building.

If you have an idea for a session that doesn’t quite fit the descriptions below, please feel free to get in touch, I’m happy to explore.

Higher Education Only: Introduction to LEGO® Serious Play® for Curriculum Design

A perfect workshop for staff in Higher Education who want to find out more about LEGO® Serious Play® and what it can do in HE, specifically for curriculum design. Each workshop includes an introduction, a hands-on practice build for all participants to get a first feel for the method, and a short bespoke build around a real curriculum design goal you have, to show LEGO® Serious Play® in action. The goal of this workshop is to familiarise HE staff with LEGO® Serious Play®, get participants comfortable with the method, and to start surfacing some ideas.

Time: 2 hours

Participants: 2-100

LEGO® Serious Play® Team building

This is the workshop for team alignment. It can be kept relatively short and sweet, or it can be a full day, depending on the goals. It is an excellent option for an away-day that is both productive and fun, and something different from your usual meetings.

The details of this workshop will depend on the size of the team and the time available. All team building workshops start with a short introduction to the method and a practice build, before moving on to the builds designed to meet your goals for the workshop.

Time: 2 hours-6 hours, depending on goals

Participants: 2-100

LEGO® Serious Play® for Strategy Design

This is the workshop to design strategy for organisations, parts of organisations or partnerships.

This is a workshop that is tailor made to a high degree, and because of the intensity and complexity the number of participants is limited to 10 per certified LSP facilitator, up to a maximum of 40.

Each workshop starts with an introduction and at least one practice build before moving on to the strategy design builds, which will be bespoke to your needs and goals.

Time: 6-8 hours

Participants 2-10 per certified facilitator

Higher Education Only: Curriculum Design LEGO® Serious Play® Bespoke Workshop

This is the workshop to tackle curriculum design goals in Higher Education. The method works especially well in any setting where co-creation of any aspect of a curriculum is the goal, or where input from a wider team is wanted before a smaller team makes decisions.

Some good examples are: evaluating and redesigning programmes, adding student voice to module design, co-creation of assessment design and module evaluation.

This is a workshop that is tailor made to a high degree, and in some more complex cases it will be appropriate to have more than one certified facilitator.

Each workshop starts with an introduction and at least one practice build before moving on to the curriculum design builds, which will be entirely bespoke to your needs, participants and goals.

Time – 3-8 hours

Participants 2-15

LEGO® Serious Play® for Research

LEGO® Serious Play® is a powerful research method that can be applied in diverse research settings. It is an excellent method for questions about people’s experiences, their opinions, and their values and will work well with both staff and with external stakeholders.

The time that the session will take will depend on the research question and who the participants are. Because these workshops tend to be more complex in nature, the number of participants is capped at 10 per certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator, with 40 max. participants.

Time: 2 – 6 hours

Participants: 2-10
